Al Masaood is one of the leading trading families of Abu Dhabi with a rich diversity of companies and businesses in Abu Dhabi, elsewhere in the UAE and further afield. We were the first company to be registered by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. Our Group has been involved in the commercial development of Abu Dhabi, mirroring the Government’s development path with some key ‘firsts’ such as delivering to the country its first gas turbine and developing the UAE’s first desalination plant.

As the UAE celebrates its golden jubilee, we also rejoice 50 years of Al Masaood Group’s journey. We reflect with pride how we have moved in synergy with our nation over the years. Whilst we fondly remember the past, we look confidently towards the future and our joint march of sustainable growth.

Our 50 years of growth and innovation started with Al Masaood venturing into the field of engineering, bringing the first gas turbine to Abu Dhabi in partnership with John Brown Engineering, and constructing the capital’s first desalination plant with Weir Westgarth.

From engineering and construction, we embarked on an expansion journey into the automotive, power, marine, real estate, business services, and retail industries.

For five decades, we have brought the world to Abu Dhabi through our portfolio of global leading brands and thriving network of international partnerships. Successfully broadening our reach, we cemented our market leadership and stayed a vibrant and true supporter to our nation, its leaders and community.

Our next 50 look as bright as that of our UAE. In it, we will loyally stand by our leaders’nation-wide efforts of growth and development and affirm our commitment to the leadership’s wise and visionary Emiratisation plans. We will spare no efforts in serving the people of our Government and nation, and openly invite the global community to come and see the world through Abu Dhabi.

A highly diversified and dynamic organisation
Al Masaood is a privately held and highly diversified Group, based in Abu Dhabi. Its companies and partnerships span activities and expertise in 18 different market segments. Its primary goal is growth through a deep understanding of its marketplace, the quality of its products and services and an uncompromising quest for customer satisfaction.

From its early foundations as a small trading house some 50 years ago, Al Masaood has become one of the largest integrated industrial, commercial and service organisations in the Middle East. The Al Masaood Company holds Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce registration number one.

With activities spanning most key economic sectors, the Al Masaood Group represents the collective business interests of the Al Masaood family.

Marine
In their earliest days Al Masaood were (among other things) owners of pearling dhows, which formed the early beginnings of a diverse marine business today. Group companies now operate commercial vessels and are also boat builders and suppliers of marine engines, marine leisure equipment and yacht brokerage and chartering.

The Group is UAE sole distributor of Volvo Penta, MTU, Hempel Paints, 3M, Mares and SP Systems, and operates numerous waterside facilities providing total service and repair to commercial, military and leisure craft.

It is also involved in the building and operating of marinas throughout the Middle East, reflecting the continuing regional growth in commercial and recreational marine activity.
